LCSW, CASAC
Hi, First, I want to acknowledge the insight and courage it takes to reach out for help. Crisis can be a powerful catalyst for change. I believe that power of self-transformation lies within all of us and that with unconditional support and dynamic treatment you can achieve your goals.
I believe that when looking for a therapist it is equally important to feel connected to the person you are working with and confident in their ability to help you and or your family.
I have dedicated my career to helping individuals and families transcend barriers to reaching their full potential, effectively cope with both internal and external stressors and assisting people, just like you to flourish in this challenging world.
I graduated from New York University in 2003 with a BS in Applied Psychology. I went on to earn my MSW at CUNY Hunter College School of Social Work. My education focused on mental health treatment and stopping the cycle of intergenerational domestic violence. I have been working in the field of behavioral health with adults and youth with co-occurring disorders since 2005 and became a NYS OASAS Provider for the Assessment of the Impaired Driving Offender in 2013.
My clinical experience has made me highly skilled at differential diagnosis of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and person-centered treatment planning. I have extensive training and clinical practice in Multidimensional Family Therapy and earned two certifications from the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. My passion and unique ability for working with difficult to engage & justice involved youth has been more fulfilling then I can put into words. I am intensively trained in trauma focused treatment and in 2015 became a certified Structed Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) clinician from Adelphi University Institute of Adolescent Trauma, Training & Treatment. I am considered to be intensively trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy and will be pursing my certification at some point on the dynamic pathway of my life. I look forward to hearing from you and discuss how I and my growing practice can help.
LMSW, CASAC
Through an empathic, non-judgmental, and person-centered approach, I aim to engage clients in developing and working towards the achievement of their goals. My practice experience focuses on working with children and adolescents who display emotional and behavioral difficulties, including those who receive special education services. As well as adolescents who struggle with the use of alcohol and other substances, including those with legal involvement. As an LMSW, I work within my scope of practice under the supervision of an LCSW.
In addition to being an LMSW, I also hold a New York State CASAC certification. I have extensive experience working within the school setting, supporting students by providing crisis intervention, counseling services, as well as social skills training. In addition, I have also worked in residential treatment for adolescents with substance use disorders providing individual/group therapy and family support groups for the last 5 years. My aim is to work collaboratively to achieve your goals. I understand that it can be challenging to begin therapy and find a therapist that may be a right fit for you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about therapy, my treatment philosophies, or my services.
